     Harriet Alice Loudin Stapelton was also known as Hattie. She When she was about five years old, her parents and her brother were coming from Pennsylvania when the parents were drowned in the Scioto River. The children were brought to Cincinnati. She was brought to the Cincinnati Orphan Asylum by Mrs. Vance, her aunt. After being at the orphanage from June 30, 1871, she was indentured to a Mr. Hogan of Williamstown, KY, August 1, 1871, to help with his children. Boys were adopted from the orphanage and not indentured so there was no information regarding her brother.

     James Lamar was born circa 1715. He married Verlinda Osbourne circa 1745. James Lamar died after 1786 at Wilkes, Georgia, USA.¹ He died after 1786 at Maryland, USA.
     He James Lamar, son of Thomas Lamar II [and Martha Blanford], was also one of the younger sons but the date of his birth is not known. He is reported to have married a lady named Valinda Osborn. He sold his inherited lands at the same time as his brothers and appears to have moved south with them, but it would seem that he did not like the south as well as the other members of the family, for in 1760 we find him again owning some of the ancestral lands in Frederick County, Maryland, and he continued to do so until after 1771. The tax records of 1760 show that his name was carried on the records as James Lemar, formerly of "Carolina."² He "James Lamar received Georgia bounty land for services rendered in the State of Georgia during the Revolutionary War"
