Author Folks Huxford's excellent genealogical books concerning South Georgians show her marriage to Mr. A. Petty. Others have stated that the Moore Cemetery grave of "Mrs. Rebecca Roberson, Died January 25, 1923" is the last resting place of this Dowling. The same sources told the author that Zibe King of Nahunta, Georgia, or Schlatterville was a descendant of hers.¹ Her married name was Roberson.¹ Her married name was Petty.¹ She appeared on the census of 16 July 1870 in the household of Honor Elizabeth Davis at Subdivision 100, Pierce, Georgia, USA.

     Mary Elizabeth Dowling was born on 27 June 1825 at Wayne, Georgia, USA.¹ She married Dempsey Griffin.² Mary Elizabeth Dowling died on 4 October 1902 at age 77.³
